BAYA Collective presents: ~I opened the door to the forgotten room, to our familiar home~ introducing two of the artists that were selected from our PRESS PLAY Open Call: Beljita Gurung and Markha Yushaeva.

During this first exhibition, we encounter their appreciation for slow art making and finding joy in taking time and cherishing the process, while the reappraisal and rediscovering of their roots connects them as they play with the subject of identity.

How do you reconnect with your roots, while refraining from romanticisation? How does your culture shine through in your work - whether or not ambiguously?
