Notes on BAYA Collective

BAYA is a creative collective that feels born out of a necessity for a new tide within our surroundings and a desire to develop and mold an authentic realm that connects creative individuals through collaborative process.

With this idea in mind, the name BAYA came to us naturally. Baya Mahieddine, born as Fatima Haddad, an Algerian artist that in her work centered only women and nature. With this she created a new world. And this message, that was conveyed throughout her oeuvre, aligns with our vision.

We believe in manifesting collaborations that are rooted within the shared aspiration to create in a way which exceeds the focus on the end-result and centers the importance of the relationships and growth that are formed in the process.

By creating an authentic realm, both on- and offline - which is at the base of BAYA - we value the idea of enabling an intimate space within our social scene in which people can get together, chat and connect.

The idea that lies at the foundation of this space is to *burn the table*. The table that enforces the exclusion of people who challenge the status-quo.

BAYA the Collective does not believe in shrinking or adapting oneself to fit the expectations which are forced upon us by society’s standard.
